Preferred qualifications:

• Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
• 3 years of experience working in a matrixed organization.

We are hiring a Software Development Manager to lead critical work in the changing, highly-engaged space of AI-enhanced developer workflows. We are positioned to benefit developers building sophisticated, real-world apps by delivering AI-empowered pro-code functionality, rapid prototyping, and comprehensive support for a wide range of languages and frameworks.

In this role, you will define the technical goals and roadmap. You will recruit and mentor a team of developers, fostering a culture of rapid innovation and technical excellence. You will operate at the intersection of Generative AI, Cloud Infrastructure, and Developer Experience, handling technical and behavioral issues to define the next paradigm for software creation.

The Canada base salary range for this full-time position is CAD 204,000-209,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

Responsibilities

• Set and communicate team priorities that support Firebase Studio's goals. Align strategy, processes, and decision-making across teams.
• Lead the design and implementation of solutions in developer experience and Agentic AI.
• Lead the team to deliver in a very dynamic and rapidly evolving field by sharing knowledge about the latest developments in AI and how the team can harness these advances.
• Provide technical guidance across our broader organization as partner teams explore ways to contribute to the developer experience.
