Structural Engineer

We have a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious Structural Engineer to join our growing team in the Benelux. This will role with provide excellent opportunities for career advancement within the department working on projects within the Pharma, Life Sciences, Mission Critical and Food & Beverage sectors.

• Responsibility for the civil and structural design, including conceptual, front end and detailed design activities on a variety of industrial projects.
• Interacting and communicating with own department, other departments, project team members, clients and other external parties to ensure co-ordination of activities.
• Preparing technical documents, including checking as appropriate, in accordance with agreed schedules and local legislation and ensure compliance with safety, environmental and regulatory requirements.
• Planning and delivering multiple tasks in a timely fashion to meet project schedules.
• Delivering project work within budgeted man-hours.
• Providing site support for construction, installation, commissioning, modification and qualification.
• Managing design personnel and team as required.
• Buildinging relationships in partnership with clients and contractors and other members of design teams.
• A proactive approach with an ability to adapt to changing scenarios.
• Site/construction/operational experience would also be very beneficial.
• Use of civil engineering software as Tekla, Tekla TEDDS, Robot and/or Staad.Pro, PDS, Autotrack, AUTOCAD, REVIT.
• Knowledge of BIM collab/ AC.

Key Deliverables

• Produce civil and structural deliverables including:
  • Site excavation details
  • Ground condition survey
  • Proposed foundations description/basis/drawings
  • Foundation drawings
  • Drainage drawings
  • Site plan showing roads/car parks/infrastructure
  • Demolition drawings
  • Underground utilities drawings
  • Site grading drawings
  • Building structure description/basis/drawings
  • Secondary steelwork details/drawings
  • Pipe rack details/drawings
• Interaction with contractor including:
  • Technical preparation of vendor bid documents
  • Technical bid analysis of same
  • Review of deliverables prepared by vendors

• Bachelor or Master degree in Civil Engineering
• Minimum 10 years experience
• Experience in the following industries is a distinct advantage:
  • Pharmaceutical
  • Biotechnology
  • Medical devices
  • Food/ nutritional
• Experience of working with a design house or engineering company
• Good knowledge of Dutch and/or French and English
