Senior System Engineer (FinTech)

A fast-growing global financial trading organisation is expanding its IT Infrastructure function and is hiring an experienced Systems Engineer to strengthen its cloud, automation, and end-user infrastructure capabilities.

This is a senior, hands-on role working closely with IT Operations to improve and scale the internal infrastructure that supports an environment that strives to always be on the cutting edge.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys owning end-user systems, solving complex technical problems, and driving automation across a global environment.

What You’ll Do

• Act as a senior escalation point for complex 3rd-line issues across the end-user environment.
• Lead backend automation and root-cause analysis to improve reliability and reduce operational workload.
• Deliver and support global infrastructure projects, including migrations and cloud adoption.
• Work closely with IT Operations, offering guidance, troubleshooting, and system improvements.
• Contribute ideas and hands-on solutions to uplift infrastructure, automation, and tooling.
• Help shape the move towards increased cloud usage across multiple international offices.

Key Skills & Experience

• 5+ years’ experience in IT Systems Engineering
• Strong background in Windows / Microsoft environments.
• Deep experience with AWS (or another major cloud provider).
• Demonstrable experience with automation (PowerShell, scripting, IaC, etc.).
• Exposure to end-user technologies such as SSO (e.g., Okta) and MDM tools (Intune or JAMF).
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent communication skills to handle complex end user issues with clarity.

Location
