Project Engineer (offshore projects)

We are currently recruiting for a Site Engineer offshore projects (freelance or employee) to support the activities of a client in the region of Brussels. Project location is Schiedam and/or Vlissingen,The Netherlands.

Our department OTS (Outsourced Technical Services) supports our clients in different sectors with consultants on site on basis of project staffing.

The Project Engineer Service

• Reports to the Construction manager (and acts as his back-up)
• Supports and works closely with the Construction manager in reporting, follow up of Progress, Quality and HSE, management of the site team, as well as interactions with the EPCI contractor
• Is responsible for the quality assurance and control aspect on site by:
  • Coordinating (& participating in) the inspections on site
  • Coordinating the review of documents submitted by the contractor
  • Acting as the knowledge center/expert for all inspectors on site (including in-depth knowledge of contractor’s documents and Employer’s Requirements)
  • Preparing the weekly and monthly reports (together with the construction manager)
• Works in a multidisciplinary team together with, amongst others: welding inspectors, paint inspectors, safety inspectors, design engineers, …).
• Is in charge of aligning with the design team
• Supports the team with diverse tasks such as cost benefit analyses of variants, streamline process improvements, enable data-driven decision making, …

Additional information:

• Full time
• 5 days a week / 8hrs a day in Schiedam or Vlissingen (Netherlands)
• Ad-hoc: Main office in Brussels
• Fluent in English, Dutch is a plus

Requirements:

• You have at least 5 years of relevant working experience
  • • Experience in the offshore sector is preferable.
    • Experience with topside Fabrication is preferable.
    • Experience with multiple disciplines onsite is a must.
    • Experience with Quality Control on a construction site is a plus.
• Education: Engineering
• Possess a VCA VOL/SCC for supervisors certificate.
• Shall comply with the clients' PPE and training matrix.
• Excellent MS Office skills (able to write well structured reports, and manage incoming reports efficiently).
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Working in team and structured
• Safety & quality mindset
• A quick learner
• Fluent in English and knowledge of Dutch is an advantage
