Fulltime Algorithmic Trading Internship (6 months)

Coinmart is a crypto proprietary trading firm trading its own capital using internally developed strategies. We operate at the intersection of quantitative research, software engineering, and market intuition.

We are looking for an Algorithmic Trading Intern who wants real exposure to strategy development inside a live trading environment.

Role

This is not a “watch and learn” internship.

You will work directly on strategy research, backtesting infrastructure, and live trading systems. You will either contribute from the quantitative strategy side, the engineering side — or ideally both.

You must be physically based in the Netherlands to be considered.

You will work on

• Researching and designing algorithmic trading strategies
• Developing hypotheses based on market structure and inefficiencies
• Backtesting strategies using historical data
• Analyzing performance metrics (Sharpe, drawdown, expectancy, etc.)
• Optimizing parameters while avoiding overfitting
• Studying microstructure of crypto markets
• Building and improving backtesting frameworks
• Writing clean, efficient, production-ready code
• Integrating exchange APIs
• Improving latency and execution logic
• Data pipeline optimization
• Monitoring and debugging live systems

If you can operate on both sides — that’s a serious advantage.

You

• Currently studying or recently graduated in Computer Science, Econometrics, Mathematics, Physics, or a related quantitative field
• Strong programming skills (Python required, experience with C++ or Rust is a plus)
• Solid understanding of data structures and algorithms
• Demonstrable knowledge of crypto markets and/or trading
• Comfortable working with data, statistics, and probabilistic thinking
• Curious about market inefficiencies
• Self-driven and independent

You should:

• Build things outside of class
• Experiment with markets or trading systems
• Think in terms of systems, edge, and risk
• Be comfortable being wrong — and iterating fast
• Be genuinely interested in crypto and trading
• Be available full time and have the option to become a full time employee after the 6 month internship
