Accounting Specialist

For our Central European Finance department, we are looking for a detail-oriented and motivated Accounting Employee. From our office in Deurne, you will support the Finance Manager and contribute to an efficient and accurate daily accounting process in accordance with IFRS guidelines. About the Role

In this role, you will be responsible for a broad range of financial activities, including:

Responsibilities

• Preparing and posting monthly journal entries, including depreciation, prepayments, payroll, inventory, and accruals.
• Aligning closely with colleagues from our Shared Service Center in Poland (AP, AR, Banking) to ensure accurate postings and efficient transaction processing.
• Processing monthly intercompany cost allocations and preparing recharges.
• Performing monthly reviews of general ledger accounts, including full reconciliation of all balance sheet accounts and review of all profit and loss accounts.
• Providing managerial accounting support and compiling data for management, including addressing inquiries from our corporate headquarters.
• Preparing VAT filings and other statistical reports for all countries in which the company operates.
• Assisting with the final monthly trial balance and consolidation package for FSBV, together with the Finance Manager.
• Monitoring automated postings and preparing corrective actions when necessary.
• Checking expense claims and ensuring compliance with company policies.
• Supporting the annual and semi-annual audits, including fixed asset registration.
• Supporting the budgeting and forecasting cycles.

Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree in Accounting (HBO level) or equivalent experience.

Required Skills

• Strong written and verbal English skills; Dutch or German is considered an advantage.
• At least 2 years of proven experience in a similar Finance & Accounting role.
• Strong communication skills with internal stakeholders and external advisors.
• A structured, accurate, and efficient work approach.
• Analytical skills and a critical mindset.
• Reliability, responsibility, and a willingness to learn new topics.
• Availability for at least 36 hours per week.
