Senior Data Architect (Contract)
Location: Netherlands (Hybrid)
Start Date: End of March
Contract Length: 6 months (with potential extension)
Language: Dutch (required)
Up to €1300 per day based on relevant experience
Overview
We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Data Architect to support a high-impact data transformation initiative for a leading organisation based in the Netherlands. This is a hybrid role, requiring on-site presence alongside remote working.
The successful candidate will play a key role in designing and shaping modern cloud-based data platforms, working closely with technical and business stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Design and own end-to-end data architecture for cloud-based analytics platforms
Lead architectural decisions around Snowflake and Databricks implementations
Define data models, ingestion patterns, and data governance frameworks
Collaborate with engineering, analytics, and business teams to translate requirements into scalable solutions
Ensure best practices around data security, performance, and cost optimisation
Provide technical leadership and mentoring to data engineers and developers
Support ongoing platform optimisation and future roadmap planning
Required Skills & Experience
Proven experience as a Senior Data Architect or similar role
Strong hands-on experience with Snowflake and Databricks
Solid background in cloud data architectures (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
Experience designing scalable data platforms and data lakes/lakehouses
Strong understanding of data modelling, ETL/ELT, and analytics architectures
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
Fluent Dutch (spoken and written) is essential
Nice to Have
Experience in regulated or enterprise environments
Knowledge of data governance, data quality, and metadata management tools
Previous contract experience within the Dutch market
Contract Details
6-month contract with a strong likelihood of extension
Competitive daily rate
