Program and Improvement Engineer Modelshop

Introduction to the job

Modelshop is a supporting team within ASML, focused on the realization of high-precision mechanical one-offs. Using both our in-house manufacturing capabilities and a network of trusted suppliers, we transform complex engineering requests into functional prototypes that meet ASML’s high standards for quality and performance. The Modelshop supports projects across ASML and plays an important role in enabling innovation throughout the company.

You are a driven Program and Improvement Engineer who acts as the linking pin between ASML’s short time-to-market demands and the prototype manufacturing challenges that come with them. In this role, you work closely with our prototype supply base and internal production facility, where the focus is on one-off manufacturing, manufacturability, and procurement support with short lead times. By coordinating these activities, you help ensure that engineering ideas can be realized quickly and effectively.

In this role, you are not only responsible for driving continuous improvement initiatives within the Modelshop, but also for connecting people, ideas and priorities across the organization. You support the team in achieving its objectives, build strong relationships with stakeholders throughout ASML and help drive department wide initiatives. This can range from process improvement projects and strategic planning to organizing presentations, promoting Modelshop capabilities and increasing visibility of the department within ASML.

Role and Responsibilities

As a Program and Improvement Engineer within Modelshop you are primary responsible to ensure a lean production process. The Improving and result based way of working needs your technical knowledge, analytic thinking, political antenna and excellent people skills, you work closely together with various Departments within ASML. For all communication between the factory’s and Modelshop you are the first contact person within ASML and your team. You like to align processes and like to challenge these. You are willing to work on ad-hoc topics but also longer project goals. Being able to switch between them when needed is crucial in a fast changing environment.

Next to your running improvements for the whole Modelshop, you also support the operational tasks of the Modelshop. Topics like logistic, ordering, tracking suppliers on KPI, etc.

The main responsibilities are:

• Continuous improvement leader for all Modelshop
• Support preventing from recurring DN’s
• Translate the Modelshop strategy into clear objectives and support execution
• Support the team in achieving operational and strategic objectives
• Establish procedures and environmental regulations for employees
• Lead cross-functional projects and department-wide initiatives
• See and translate opportunities towards recommendations for improvements
• Implement cost reduction initiatives while maintaining high quality standards
• Investigate problems, analyze root causes and derive resolutions

Education and experience

• BSc in a relevant technical study
• Green belt or higher
• Preferably 2+ years’ experience in high tech development environment with a focus on process improvement or project management skills.

Other information

For this position, the indicative (fixed) annual salary range is between 67,000 euro and 75,500 euro​. This range comprises vacation allowance and a 13th-month payment. Company profit sharing is not included in this range. The actual compensation offered will depend on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to: job-related skills, relevant Education and (work) experience, certifications, demonstrated abilities of the candidate, pay relative to other team members. This position requires access to controlled technology, as defined in the United States Export Administration Regulations (15 C.F.R. § 730, et seq.). Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to access such controlled technology prior to beginning work.
