Accounting Assistant

Accounting Assistant (32 - 40 hours per week), based in Sittard

Position Summary

The Accounting Assistant has as primary responsibility to secure the daily processing of all main transactions, also in preparation for a smooth and accurate month end closing process.

Duties and Responsibilities

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following:

• Booking of all types of sales and purchase invoices
• Processing cash receipts to customer accounts
• Reconciling all cash accounts on a daily basis
• Generating monthly accounts receivable statements to customers
• Recording all bill payments
• Contributing to credit risk processing of clients
• Entering journal entries as required
• Verifying employee expense reports for accuracy and completeness
• Coding and entering monthly company credit card charges
• Updating assigned account reconciliations and verifying completeness
• Assisting finance colleagues to achieve complete and timely monthly closing

Also other duties may be assigned to meet occurring business needs.

Qualifications/Requirements:

• At least MBO+ level education
• 5-7 years of general accounting experience
• Familiar with international business and reconciliation rules
• A ‘Can do’ attitude and a team player who can work well across the organization
• Attention to detail, where relevant
• Well-developed verbal & written communication skills
• Ability to prioritize tasks & work under pressure to meet deadlines
• Strong PC skills (including Microsoft Office, preferably Power BI) & experience with main business systems (like SAP, Exact and/or NetSuite)
• Ability and flexibility to solve problems
• Fluent in English, other languages are a plus
