Specialist Tactical Capacity Management

As a Specialist in Strategic Capacity Management at Alliander, you are essential for ensuring a safe, efficient, and future-proof electricity grid over the next 0–2 years. You generate insights into future bottlenecks, translate strategic analyses into actionable measures, and advise senior management to optimize grid utilization. Working in a dynamic, data-driven, and collaborative environment, you play a key role in shaping the energy system of tomorrow. This is a full-time position of 40 hours per week.

As a Specialist Tactical Capacity Management within System Operations, you are a strategic expert responsible for analyzing and safeguarding the availability of the electricity grid over the next 0 to 2 years. Your starting point is creating insight into future bottlenecks by generating forecasts that combine short- and long-term grid load expectations. 

You’ll be part of a team that is evolving rapidly and plays a crucial role in professionalizing this discipline. This requires an innovative and resourceful approach, where you help translate policy into practice and propose concrete improvements. Your strategic analyses and advice are essential to maximize grid utilization and accelerate the energy transition.

Within System Operations, you’ll work alongside ambitious, and internationally oriented colleagues to develop an autonomous, safe, and resilient energy system. In the Tactical Capacity Management team, you’ll focus on strategic analysis and policy development that make the grid smarter and more future-proof.

You know how to develop strategic insights and translate them into impactful measures. You do that with your own strength and talent. And you do that with us. Will you contribute with your vision and analytical expertise? And complement that with: 

• A minimum of HBO+/WO level of education and more than 7 years of relevant work experience. 

• Deep knowledge of energy networks, predictive models, and energy systems. 

• Experience in strategically guiding data science and grid analysis efforts. 

• Proven experience leading complex, multidisciplinary projects and coordinating national-level initiatives. 

• Ability to advise at a strategic level and engage with senior management, executives, and external stakeholders. 

• Strong conceptual thinking and the ability to operate beyond conventional frameworks in a dynamic environment. 

• Fluency in English, given the international nature of the organization.

Better arranged for you 

Based on a 40-hour workweek, you’ll receive: 

• A gross monthly salary ranging from €6,188 to €8,840 (scale 11). 

• An annual Individual Choice Budget (IKB) of 18% (full-time) or 12.8% (part-time) of your gross annual salary. This includes 8% holiday allowance. You can choose to have this amount paid out, or use it to purchase additional leave days. You decide what suits you best. 

• 24.5 vacation days per year, which you can easily supplement using your IKB. 

• A year-end bonus in December of 6% of your annual salary. 

• An annual Sustainable Employability (DI) budget of €500. Use it, for example, to cover costs for sports or hobbies, make your home more sustainable and green, or reduce your student loan with DUO. You decide where your budget goes.
