Job Description:

We are looking for an independent and experienced Shopfitter to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for the fabrication and assembly of pipe fittings and brackets, with a strong emphasis on independence and quality. You will work in a dynamic environment and contribute to the success of our production process.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

• Independently fabricate pipe fittings and brackets.
• Assemble pipe fittings, valves, and other necessary components.
• Process, grind, and degrease weld seams (burning, grinding).
• Weld pipe fittings (TIG and MIG) according to applicable guidelines.
• Transport materials to and from the worksite.
• Report pipe fittings and components according to guidelines.
• Identify deviations in piping materials, components, and drawings, and report to the supervisor.
• Perform maintenance on machines and tools, ensuring a clean workspace.
• Report malfunctions of machines and tools to the supervisor.
• Conduct interim checks and final checks on measurements.
• Inspect (punch) and pressure test piping systems.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure the correct measurements and quality of fabricated and/or assembled pipe fittings.
• Responsible for interim and final checks on measurements.
• Efficiently fabricate and assemble pipe fittings and piping systems.
• Ensure that pipe fittings are properly capped.
• Work according to safety, health, and environmental standards.
• Properly operate machines and use tools.
• Maintain records of maintenance for machines and tools.
• Release products for the welder and/or foreman.
• Monitor quality standards of piping materials and components.

Authorities:

• Report qualitative deviations to the supervisor.
• Address colleagues and visitors regarding incorrect actions concerning safety, health, and the environment.
• Submit improvement proposals, both requested and unsolicited.
• Release fabricated and assembled pipe fittings to the welder and/or foreman.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a pipefitter in ship piping systems.
• Ability to work 100% independently.
• Proficient in reading isometric sketches (drawing interpretation).
• Possession of a valid VCA certificate or willingness to obtain one.
• Proficiency in the English language.
