About Psylaris Psylaris is a young, fast-moving company redefining how mental healthcare is delivered.
We create innovative digital therapies in VR & web that support clinicians and patients in the treatment of trauma, anxiety, and depression, from EMDR and VR exposure therapy to interactive CBT and ACT modules.
Our ambition is to build autonomous mental healthcare that is genuinely helpful to patients and therapists alike - not just AI buzzwords , but systems that make therapy more accessible, measurable, and effective. Our ultimate goal is to tackle waiting lists in mental healthcare.
We believe that product teams belong at the heart of decision-making .
Developers, designers, and psychologists collaborate as equals, shaping how our products take form and how they serve patients. If you want to see your engineering work translate directly into better mental-health outcomes, you’ll fit right in.
Be part of the discussion. Help shape a strong, socially active company that uses technology to do real good.
Why this role
You’ll work on our core Unity-based products and the internal frameworks that power them.
VR experience is welcome but not required, what matters most is deep C# mastery and the ability to design robust, reusable systems that make the whole team faster.
You’ll help us evolve the foundations of our products while continuously improving the experience of therapists and patients who rely on them.
A key part of this is communicating with our multi-disciplinarian team to see what is required and proactively help others in their work through tooling or libraries.
What you’ll do
- Build and ship Unity features across our mental-health product line.
- Design and maintain internal Unity frameworks & libraries.
- Collaborate closely with product owners, psychologists, and designers to translate therapy concepts into clear user experiences.
- Help establish a new level of quality in engineering.
- Improve performance, stability, and developer ergonomics through profiling, refactoring, and automation.
- Contribute architectural proposals and drive technical direction in a small, high-trust team.
- Participate in code reviews, documentation, and mentoring of peers.
What you’ll bring
- 5+ years building production Unity applications or games or you can showcase your expertise and applicability.
- Deep C# expertise and understanding of both high & low-level concepts - from async to DI to memory, threading, and performance patterns.
- Solid Unity fundamentals.
- Experience designing reusable APIs and internal libraries.
- Strong communication and comfort with autonomy - you take ownership and communicate proactively.
- Pragmatic testing and CI experience (e.g. GitHub Actions, or similar).
- A collaborative mindset - open to feedback, eager to help others grow.
Nice to have - Experience in VR or AR (OpenXR, interaction systems).
- Editor scripting, custom inspectors, or workflow automation.
- Performance profiling (CPU/GPU/memory).
- Interest in behavioral science, healthcare, or data-driven UX.
How we work - Autonomous teams. You’ll help decide how the product evolves, not just implement tickets.
- Direct impact. Your work contributes to therapy sessions used by real patients.
- Cross-disciplinary collaboration. Work alongside psychologists, designers, and engineers equally.
- Help establish engineering-led quality. We invest in frameworks, testing, and profiling as long-term enablers, are growing as a company and you can help establish this.
- Async-first communication. Minimal meetings, clear documentation, full ownership.
What success looks like - 3 months: You’ve shipped a meaningful feature and contributed to our internal tooling.
- 6 months: You’re a go-to person for a product area or internal package.
- 12 months: You’re helping shape our next generation of autonomous therapy systems.
Benefits - Competitive salary.
- Flexible hours, remote-friendly.
- Learning budget & conference support.
- Work with a purpose - see your work improve lives.
- A growing company in which you can help shape what work looks like with strong social interaction in the team.
