For our Office in Drunen we are looking for an

Operational Purchaser

to support the day to day procurement related questions four our Propulsion Services business and operations.

This includes all the procurement related tasks for the full propulsion portfolio four our maritime customers worldwide.

What will you be doing

As an Operational Purchaser you are the central point of contact between many other Wärtsilä departments and external suppliers. Within Wärtsilä, you will be working with our Global Distribution Centre in Kampen, Propulsion Engineering teams and other Procurement specialists. Your main focus is to support the operational processes from requisitions to on-site delivery worldwide. You work according to Wärtsilä procurement guidelines and under the supervision of Wärtsilä Purchasing Department.

What are your main tasks and responsibilities?

• You are our local specialist for the day to day procurement related questions to support the Propulsion Services Business and operations.
• Create a sourcing plan with focus on cost control, in close cooperation with Wartsila procurement department.
• Enter procurement requisitions and follow the requisition until the final order and delivery.
• Make sure that the ordered goods are delivered within time, budget and on the right location.
• Check that the invoices are booked correctly and take actions when needed.
• Negotiate with suppliers for non-contracted parts and services.
  

The below will enable you to shine in this role:

• You hold a vocational or bachelor’s degree.
• Some years of working experience within an international environment within a supply chain or procurement related position is an advantage.
• You are experienced in Microsoft Excel, experience with SAP and other ERP systems is seen as an advantage.
• You have a pro-active work mentality. You are able to think ahead and how to keep the process running.
• Affection with maritime industry is an advantage.
• Excellent social and communication skills in English and Dutch, both oral and written.
