Lead Hardware Engineer

Introduction

For one of our clients active in industrial automation, we’re looking for a Lead Hardware Engineer to be responsible for the complete hardware design and engineering of control systems and machine automation. In this role, you’ll work partly on-site at the client’s location near Eindhoven, contributing directly to the delivery of innovative, high-quality technical solutions. The Role

As a Lead Hardware Engineer, you are the technical lead for hardware engineering within complex machine-building projects. You take ownership of the design process, guide a team of engineers, and ensure the delivery of projects to the highest standard. Your responsibilities include:

Preparation

• Translating customer requirements into effective hardware designs.
• Setting up engineering projects and aligning with project managers and stakeholders.
• Reviewing technical specifications, schematics, and project goals.

Engineering & Design

• Designing control systems using EPLAN Pro Panel (required).
• Ensuring optimal use of engineering and drafting capacity.
• Supporting the integration of machine controls and automation solutions.
• Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, including software and mechanical engineers.

Coordination & Quality Control

• Leading and mentoring (junior) engineers to ensure growth and development.
• Monitoring planning, progress, and quality of engineering deliverables.
• Communicating project status to the project manager and engineering manager.
• Verifying that industry standards and customer-specific requirements are met.

General

• Working according to technical, safety, and labor regulations applicable to the site and project.

This is You

You are an experienced engineer with strong analytical skills and a proactive mindset. You thrive in dynamic environments, take ownership of your work, and know how to create an inspiring team atmosphere. You have:

• A completed bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or Drive & Control Engineering .
• Proven experience as a Lead Hardware Engineer .
• Strong technical knowledge of industrial automation and machine control systems .
• Experience with EPLAN (required); Inventor is a plus.
• Good communication and commercial skills.
• A results-oriented, flexible, and accurate working style.
• A valid EU passport or residence permit.
