Our client is a fast-growing technology company in the semiconductor sector. As Application Team Lead/Architect, you take full responsibility for customer demonstrations that directly shape investment decisions and company survival. When demos work, you're a hero. You become one of the most visible people in the organisation, getting direct exposure to tier-1 customers and working on problems that genuinely matter.

You'll work extremely closely with the CEO initially, learning to become the primary technical voice for these customers, and gradually taking over that role. This is intensely hands-on: you lead and oversee the entire demonstration process from technical planning through delivery, delegate what you can to your team, but tackle the most difficult technical work yourself. You'll influence product direction at the highest level while building deep relationships with industry leaders. Demo success is existential for the company, so you need to thrive under that level of pressure and be driven by the impact of your work.

You'll report to the Head of Development and Engineering, manage the application team, and work from the Eindhoven office.

Key responsibilities:

• Take full responsibility for customer demonstrations, from technical planning through execution and presentation, managing high expectations and tight timelines
• Lead and mentor the application team, providing hands-on technical guidance on the most difficult work while developing team capability
• Work extremely closely with the CEO on customer strategy, gradually taking over the primary customer-facing role
• Interact closely with algorithm, software, and test bench teams to bring together components for complete demonstration solutions
• Travel to customer sites approximately quarterly, locations including Korea, Taiwan, US, Japan

About you:

• PhD in physics, electrical engineering, or related field, with proven experience working at tier-1 semiconductor manufacturers (Samsung, TSMC, Intel, Micron, SK Hynix) or as an application engineer for major metrology suppliers
• Proven experience leading and developing technical teams
• Deep, hands-on knowledge of advanced device architectures, able to draw and explain front-end logic and DRAM structures from memory in detail, including the reasoning behind design choices
• Strong understanding of semiconductor front-end processes and their metrology challenges, with ability to guide technical work at the highest level
• Excellent programming capability in Python, C++, or similar, with strong knowledge of algorithms and numerical methods
• Ability to thrive under intense pressure with high customer expectations, exceptional communication skills, and the mindset that demo success is non-negotiable
• Fluent English for customer communication at all levels, with Korean and/or Mandarin Chinese an advantage
