Do you enjoy connecting business needs with IT solutions? As an IT application consultant  in the Corporate Services value stream at Tata Steel Netherlands, you ensure the continuity, integration, and lifecycle management of business-critical applications. Your work supports domains such as Health & Safety, Site Security, Sustainability, and Communications, including projects involving access management systems and Cority. You act as the linking pin between business stakeholders, IT teams, and external vendors, ensuring successful implementations, secure integrations, and continuous improvement.

This role places you at the heart of the Corporate Services value stream, part of the Digital Technologies organization, responsible for delivering secure, scalable, and future-proof digital solutions across Tata Steel Netherlands. You ensure that supporting functions, including IT services, operate efficiently and contribute to the company’s overall success.

As an application consultant, you will:

• Lead application projects. Take ownership of implementations across multiple domains, guiding projects from requirements capture to deployment while ensuring timely and effective delivery.
• Translate business needs into IT solutions. Capture, analyze, and convert functional requirements into feasible technical solutions and high-level designs.
• Collaborate with stakeholders. Work closely with developers, functional administrators, architects, and vendors to coordinate activities, maintain alignment, and ensure smooth delivery.
• Manage applications and integrations. Oversee the application lifecycle, including updates, releases, and integration changes, while monitoring performance, continuity, and secure, compliant data flows.
• Drive continuous improvement. Analyze incidents, identify root causes, implement structural solutions, and produce clear functional documentation to enhance reliability, efficiency, and process quality.

• HBO/WO-level education in Informatics, Business Administration, or a related field.
• A minimum of five years of experience in IT application management or IT support.
• Experience in application implementation and IT project delivery, with the ability to translate functional requirements into practical IT solutions.
• Knowledge of ITIL processes and Agile ways of working, and understanding of change delivery within value streams or Agile teams.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with business, IT, and external vendors, while communicating clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Affinity with security, compliance, and critical business processes, preferably with experience in complex application landscapes and integrations.

In your role, you contribute to delivering secure, reliable application landscapes and supporting business-critical processes with robust IT solutions. You will help drive continuous improvement and simplification, ensuring alignment between technology choices, business strategy, and the long-term digital ambitions of Tata Steel.
