Keep Survey Operations Running. We’re looking for an experienced Survey Technician to support and prepare our projects worldwide.
About Pliant Offshore Pliant Offshore is the market leader in high-tech measurement systems, specifically for offshore wind farm installations. Our patented motion-compensated LiDAR technology plays a vital role in the construction of wind farms worldwide. You’ll be joining an ambitious team that’s dedicated to pushing the boundaries of renewable energy technology.
Working at Pliant Offshore is different from what you might be used to at offshore companies. Here you’re part of a tight-knit, ambitious team where your input truly matters. With short lines of communication and a collaborative mindset, your technical ideas and feedback aren’t just heard, they’re often implemented directly into our software and systems. If you’re someone who likes to make a visible impact and help shape the tools you work with, Pliant Offshore offers that rare opportunity.
About the Role We are looking for a technically strong Survey Technician with a focus on installation of structures (pile, jackets, topsides, and cable). In this role, you are directly involved in some of the most critical phases of offshore projects, where precision is key and there is no room for error. This position plays a key role in supporting offshore installation projects, ensuring precise positioning, reliable systems, and high-quality data throughout every phase of the operation.
The focus area will be taking ownership of survey IT and system integration, including the setup of computers, servers, data storage, and network infrastructure (LAN, switches, routers, data links). You integrate multiple sensors into a stable system and troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues under time pressure.
Working at the intersection of survey, IT, and operations, you play an essential role in supporting safe execution while delivering high-quality, verifiable data. From real-time decision-making during installation to final as-built deliverables, your work forms the foundation for project validation and handover.
What You’ll Do You are responsible for delivering accurate real-time positioning, alignment, and dimensional control throughout all stages of pile installation (including upending, piling, and grouting), and topside lifting or mating operations. Your work ensures that large offshore structures are installed exactly as designed: safely, efficiently, and within tight tolerances.
Beyond traditional survey responsibilities, this role has a strong technical backbone. You take ownership of the full survey setup, including system configuration, IT infrastructure, data flow, and integration of multiple sensors and positioning systems. You ensure that survey spreads are reliable, stable, and continuously available in a demanding offshore environment where downtime is not an option.
Who You Are You understand the field and take ownership, you do understand systems, equipment, and how things work in practice. We’re looking for:
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience as an (offshore) Survey Technician.
- Background in marine/survey environments.
- Knowledge of survey equipment, GPS, and data collection.
- Experience with survey software (such as Qinsy) or willingness to learn.
- Hands-on mindset and strong problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication skills in English (spoken and written).
- Willing to travel internationally.
Nice to have:
- Offshore certifications (e.g. BOSIET / GWO).
What You Can Expect You’ll be working in a specialized and technical environment where quality and collaboration are key. We’re not looking for just anyone. We’re looking for someone we can truly rely on.
- International working environment.
- High level of responsibility and independence.
- Working with specialized equipment and systems.
- Opportunities to grow within the company.
Good to Know This is an onshore role (no long offshore rotations) though international travel is part of the job. You’ll work closely with engineers and report to the technical lead. We’re looking for someone who takes ownership and gets things done.
