The Role

As Lead Mechanical Engineer, you'll play a key role in developing and delivering sophisticated mechanical solutions for automated machinery and production lines. You'll combine hands-on engineering with technical leadership, guiding projects and supporting a small team of engineers.

In this role, you will:

• Take the technical lead in end-to-end mechanical engineering projects, from specification to delivery;
• Drive the design and development of complex machine modules and automated systems;
• Perform mechanical calculations, tolerance studies, FEA, and design verification;
• Coordinate engineering activities across disciplines such as electrical, software, and manufacturing;
• Lead a small team of engineers, ensuring quality, progress, and knowledge sharing;
• Translate customer and process requirements into robust technical solutions;
• Support prototype builds, testing, commissioning, and continuous improvement initiatives;
• Contribute to standardization, innovation, and long-term product development strategies.

This is You

You're a proactive technical leader who enjoys both engineering depth and project responsibility.

You bring:

• A Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field;
• Proven years' experience in machine building and/or industrial automation , with solid skills in 3D CAD design;
• Proven experience acting as Lead Engineer , coordinating technical project teams and being in the lead of succesful technical project execution;
• A strong track record in full project execution: from concept- and system design, to detail design, validation and testing, until final coordination of production and commissioning;
• Experience in the food processing industry or other high-hygiene industrial environments is strongly preferred;
• Knowledge of mechanical analysis, design for manufacturing, and engineering documentation;
• Strong communication skills and the ability to align stakeholders across disciplines;
• Fluency in English (Dutch is a plus, but not required).
