Your Role

As a Lead Data Engineer, you will be instrumental in crafting, building, optimizing and consolidating our data infrastructure and pipelines. Your focus will be on ensuring efficient data flow and accessibility, supporting our cloud data warehouse initiatives, integrating global and regional environments and driving digital transformation through innovative data solutions.

You have the ambition to grow to a solution or data architect position and learn on implementing effective governance strategies, with a particular emphasis on Azure cloud solutions, Databricks to drive digital transformation.

• Build and Develop : Conceptualize, invent, implement, develop and review a comprehensive warehouse architecture with focus on translation of business acceptance criteria into technical requirements.

• Roadmap Creation : Create a roadmap aligned with business and tech strategy to ensure coherent progress and integration.

• Governance : Implement data governance frameworks to ensure data quality, security, and compliance with industry standards.

• Leadership : Provide technical leadership and guidance to the data engineering team in implementing architectural designs.

• Collaboration : Partner with multi-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into scalable and efficient data solutions. Work closely with partners to find opportunities for data integration, migration, and optimization.

• Innovation : Proactively stay ahead of industry trends and new technologies to continuously improve data architecture strategies and standards, with a solid focus on GenAI, NLP, and ML.

• Migration : Own the consolidation of data solutions from Oracle, Azure Synapse and AWS Databricks to Azure Databricks.

This is who you are

You have an extensive experience (minimum of 7 years) in data engineering, with a focus on cloud-based solutions. Proficiency in Databricks and Azure platforms and experience with data modeling techniques. Solid grasp of data governance principles and established methods.

• Good communication skills, with the ability to convey sophisticated technical concepts to both technical and non-technical collaborators.

• Technical Skills: Programming in Python – PySpark, PySpark – (Advanced) T-SQL, PL-SQL, Data science modules, Proficiency in Databricks – Unity Catalog, Deltalake, Databrick Asset Bundles, Genie, Workflows, Familiar with NoSQL databases processing, Data modelling – Familiar with CICD (Azure DevOps), Dimensional and Data Vault modelling, and ETL/ELT processes within a reporting infrastructure. Solid understanding of Compute and Storage on Microsoft Azure (AWS is plus). Experience with M-Query and DAX is a Pré.

• Technical leadership. Demonstrable experience in leading and influencing multi-functional teams to achieve common goals.

• Data Integration: Experience with crafting a data integration architecture that seamlessly combines information from diverse sources and formats.

• Data Governance : Understanding of the fundamentals of data governance and related methodologies.

• Certifications: Certifications in Microsoft Azure (e.g., Microsoft Certified: DP-203 Azure Data Engineer Associate/DP-700 Implementing Data Engineering Solutions Using Microsoft Fabric) and Databricks certification exams are a plus.

• Continuous Learning: A passion for continuous self-development and staying abreast of the latest developments in the Microsoft Azure, Databricks, Cloud ecosystem.
