Job Description
This company is a pioneer in the development of long-acting medicines based on microspheres and nanoparticles. As the Head of Analytical Chemistry, you will lead a team of 18 people and be responsible for managing and expanding the analytical chemistry department. You will develop analytical methods, oversee project progress, manage the department's budget, and ensure GMP compliance. You'll collaborate closely with the team leader within your department as well as colleagues from QA, process development, and formulation.
Responsibilities
- Manage the entire Analytical Chemistry Department (18 FTE).
- Develop and validate analytical methods.
- Oversee planning, progress, and execution of all departmental projects.
- Manage operational and capital budgets, including assets and equipment.
- Ensure a safe working environment (EHS measures).
- Review and approve protocols, reports, and procedures.
- Act as Head of Quality Control (as outlined in chapter 2 of cGMP).
Profile
- MSc or PhD in Pharmacy, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemistry, Molecular Biology, or a related field.
- At least 8-10 years of experience in analytical chemistry or product development related to injectables, medical devices, or biomaterials.
- Hands-on knowledge of GMP and quality control (QC) practices.
- Experienced in working in large matrix organizations with international, multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong leadership skills, clear communicator, and a vision for process optimization.
Employment Conditions
- Type of employment: Long-term
- Salary range: €6,250 - €10,500 per month with annual raise
