Were looking for an intern who wants to make an impact within Internal Audit by designing and implementing an innovative Continuous Auditing System. This system will support Vanderlande Internal Audit in developing the annual audit plan and enhancing ongoing audit engagements.

Youll have the opportunity to build a smart data-driven solution that automatically extracts internal and external data from multiple sources cleanses and transforms it analyzes it against defined rule sets and visualizes the results. Using advanced analytics the system will identify potential risks and anomalies such as duplicate payments excessive system access unauthorized purchases or large unapproved manual journal entries.

Your work will directly contribute to improving transparency risk management and decision-making across the organization.

Department description

Internal Audit reports into the Vanderlande Audit Committee. It provides assurance to the Vanderlande Board by performing internal audits across all areas of the organization. Purpose of the internal audits is to verify that business processes are set up in a way that ensures reliable financial reporting and prevents fraud and errors from happening.

Tasks/responsibilities

• Design and implement a Continuous Auditing System for Internal Audit.
• Collect cleanse and analyze internal and external data.
• Detect risks and anomalies such as duplicate payments or unauthorized access.
• Visualize findings to support decision-making and audit planning.
• Collaborate with the Internal Audit team to improve transparency and risk management.

• Programming skills specifically for data extraction manipulation and visualization
• Proactive and able to work independently
• Ability to quickly build a professional network
• Interest in accounting and finance
• *Mandatory enrolment to a Dutch Education System & resident of The Netherlands.
