Then the position of Freight Forwarder at DSV is perfect for you!

You make it happen
As a Freight Forwarder, you are in control of arranging transport shipments quickly and efficiently. You are an expert in building and maintaining both internal and external networks. You make it work.

How do you do this? From Venlo, a number of trucks depart every day to various destinations all over the world. This can be an FTL (full-truckload), an LTL (less-than-truckload), or a truck filled with groupage shipments. Your task is to schedule these trucks as fully and efficiently as possible, both on the outbound and return journeys. You make this happen by:

• ensuring the correct and timely delivery of shipments and efficiently planning them to achieve the highest possible load factor;
• monitoring shipments in real time and responding proactively to any safety issues;
• negotiating rates for purchased transport;
• proactively communicating and informing customers and partners. You follow up on your shipments and identify irregularities regarding loading, unloading, or delivery.

Your team at DSV stands out due to its strong mix of experienced and Junior Planners. Helping each other and growing is the top priority. A thorough onboarding period is, of course, part of this. Together with your team, no transport solution is impossible.

What you bring
• a degree in transport and logistics is an advantage, but passion for the field is far more important to us;
• some experience in planning or coordinating transport, for example as a freight forwarder, transport planner, or supply chain coordinator;
• good command of Dutch is a plus. Proficiency in English is a must;
• proficiency with MS Office and the ability to quickly learn new systems.
