Capex Buyer

My client is looking for a skilled CAPEX Buyer - responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and managing procurement contracts related to capital expenditures (CAPEX), including equipment, machinery, infrastructure, and large-scale investments. Projects ranging from €50-100m+.

This is full time role, Total comp up to c €130,000

This role ensures the organization secures the best value for its investments while maintaining compliance with procurement policies, financial objectives, and supplier management strategies. The ideal candidate has strong procurement expertise, experience in capital project sourcing, and the ability to manage complex supplier relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

1. CAPEX Procurement Strategy & Sourcing

• Develop and execute sourcing strategies for capital investments, including machinery, equipment, facilities, and technology infrastructure.
• Conduct market research and supplier analysis to identify cost-effective and high-quality sourcing options.
• Engage with internal stakeholders (engineering,NBD, operations, finance) to define CAPEX procurement needs and ensure alignment with business objectives.
• Manage supplier prequalification and selection processes for CAPEX projects.

2. Supplier Negotiation & Contracting

• Lead negotiations with suppliers to secure competitive pricing, favourable contract terms, and risk mitigation measures.
• Draft, review, and finalize procurement contracts, including equipment purchase agreements, leasing contracts, and long-term supplier agreements.
• Ensure CAPEX contracts include clear service-level agreements (SLAs), warranties, and maintenance clauses.
• Collaborate with legal and finance teams to ensure contract compliance with company policies and regulations.

3. Cost & Risk Management

• Identify and drive cost-saving initiatives in CAPEX procurement without compromising quality and project timelines.
• Assess financial, operational, and contractual risks in capital investments and develop mitigation strategies.
• Monitor supplier financial stability and performance to prevent potential disruptions in CAPEX projects.

4. Project & Supplier Relationship Management

• Work closely with project managers, engineering teams, and vendors to ensure smooth procurement and timely delivery of CAPEX goods and services.
• Manage supplier performance, ensuring adherence to contractual commitments, timelines, and quality standards.
• Develop long-term strategic relationships with key suppliers to support future capital investment needs.
• Facilitate resolution of disputes or delays in equipment deliveries or installations.
