Senior Project Engineer Yachts

In this position, you work on unique, international yacht projects where electrical engineering, technical expertise, and project coordination come together. You are technically strong, maintain overview, and know exactly what a project needs to be successful.

What will you do?

As a Senior Project Engineer, you are technically and organizationally responsible for your projects. You oversee the entire process, from engineering and planning to coordination with production and the customer. You act as a technical sparring partner for project management and serve as the primary point of contact for technical questions.

In addition to technical guidance, you are also involved in the financial and commercial aspects of projects. You assess changes, prepare cost calculations, and develop variation and additional work quotations in close cooperation with project management. This ensures that technical decisions are translated accurately into costs and planning.

Your daily focus includes:

Managing yacht projects from A to Z

Reviewing and (co‑) designing electrical schematics

Coordinating with project management on planning, progress, and financial matters

Preparing calculations and budgets for projects and changes

Developing variation and additional work quotations with technical substantiation

Ensuring drawings are available accurately and on time for production

Discussing and monitoring lead times and procurement

Resolving technical changes in consultation with hardware and software engineers

Acting as the technical point of contact for customers

What do you bring?

You are an experienced project engineer with a passion for electrical engineering and yacht construction. You work in a structured manner, take responsibility, and are confident in making technical decisions. You communicate clearly and are approachable for colleagues and customers alike.

In addition, you bring:

An MBO or HBO degree in Electrical Engineering, with at least 6 years of experience in a comparable engineering role

Proven knowledge of electrical engineering; experience with EPLAN P8 is a plus

Affinity with luxury yacht building or maritime projects

Strong technical insight and a solution‑oriented mindset

Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team

Experience managing multiple, technically complex projects simultaneously

Strong communication skills across different disciplines and levels

A proactive, quality‑driven attitude with attention to detail

Strong skills in reading and interpreting technical documentation

Excellent communication skills in Dutch and English

Availability for 32 to 40 hours per week

Your Workplace

As Senior Project Engineer Yachts, you mainly work from our office in Hilversum. From there, you manage yacht projects end‑to‑end and maintain close contact with customers, project management, and internal departments such as engineering and production. Depending on the project, there may be occasional interaction with shipyards or international partners.
