Senior Internal Auditor

EMEA Recruitment are working with a global organization in the energy industry. Our client is looking for a Senior Internal Auditor with strong expertise in risk management, internal controls, and the full audit cycle.

In this role, you will lead and execute business audits and advisory projects across multiple business units and functions.

You will assess risks, evaluate control frameworks, and provide practical recommendations to strengthen processes and ensure compliance with internal policies, regulations, and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities of the Senior Internal Auditor:

• Contribute to the annual audit plan and stay alert to emerging risks and regulatory developments
• Apply data analytics and quantitative methods to identify trends and risk areas, translating insights into focused audit plans
• Develop and perform risk-based test plans to evaluate the effectiveness of controls
• Identify control gaps and process improvement opportunities
• Deliver clear, actionable audit reports tailored to different audiences
• Support innovation within the audit function, including data analytics, process optimization, and the use of AI tools

Requirements:

• Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or similar
• Relevant certification (e.g. CIA, CPA, CISA) is an advantage
• 7+ years’ internal audit experience in an international setting
• Solid understanding of risk management, internal controls, and compliance; IFRS knowledge is a plus
• Strong analytical and data skills (Excel, Power BI, ACL preferred) and ability to translate data into clear insights
• Familiarity with IIA standards and modern audit methodologies
• Fluent in English
• Willingness to travel up to 30%
