Production Team Lead – Cell & Gene Therapy Manufacturing (EU Applicants Only)

On-site role (no hybrid option due to GMP operations)

About the Role

We are seeking a Production Team Lead to supervise and support a team of approximately 15

Biotech Associates within a GMP-regulated cell and gene therapy manufacturing environment .

This role combines hands-on operational leadership with people management , ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient manufacturing across a continuous 24/7 production operation.

You will collaborate closely with Production, QA, QC, and Manufacturing Compliance teams to maintain production continuity, support batch release activities, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of ~15 Biotech Associates in a GMP manufacturing environment
• Oversee daily manufacturing operations across a 24/7 shift schedule
• Ensure compliance with GMP standards, safety requirements, and production timelines
• Manage and support deviations, investigations, and CAPAs
• Review and ensure accuracy of batch records and GMP documentation
• Work closely with QA/QC and Compliance teams to support batch release activities
• Drive continuous improvement and operational excellence initiatives
• Coach, mentor, and develop production staff to enhance performance and capability
• Ensure production targets are achieved while maintaining quality and compliance

Required Skills, Qualifications & Experience

• Proven experience leading a manufacturing or production team in a biotech, pharmaceutical, or regulated manufacturing environment
• Strong experience working in a GMP-regulated environment
• Experience overseeing manufacturing operations or production activities
• Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Biotechnology, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or related field
• OR equivalent hands-on manufacturing leadership experience
• Availability to work a 24/7 rotating shift schedule

Desirable Experience

• Experience in cell therapy, gene therapy, biologics, or advanced therapy manufacturing
• Experience managing deviations, investigations, and CAPAs
• Experience reviewing or completing batch records and GMP documentation
• Strong collaboration with QA/QC and Manufacturing Compliance teams
• Experience in continuous improvement / operational excellence initiatives
• Coaching and development of production teams
• Experience in high-throughput or fast-paced manufacturing environments

Salary & Benefits

• Annual salary: €50,000 – €70,000 (including holiday allowance)
• Bonus: 10% annual performance bonus (separate from base salary)
