ING Wholesale Banking has an interesting opportunity available for an ambitious professional with a strong commercial drive. We are looking for a hands-on commercially driven leader to steer the Financial Institutions team and business in The Netherlands.

The Team
The FI team in Netherlands currently consists of 6 client coverage professionals and 10 commercial development and non-financial risk (CD&NFR) professionals. The CD&NFR professionals report into the Team Head of CD&NFR. You will report locally to the Head of Sectors Netherlands and functionally to the Head of FI EMEA. Candidates should have demonstrated leadership experience in an end-to-end setting a strong commercial drive understanding of FI clients products and dynamics good understanding of non-financial risk and strong analytical skills.

WB Sector Financial Institutions
The FI sector team has a leading position in providing Financial Markets Lending Trade Finance Payments & Capital Markets and advisory services to Financial Institutions. Clients consist of banks financial sponsors insurance companies pension funds asset managers trust offices private equity and fintechs.
The FI sector team manages INGs FI relationships on a global basis. The dedicated FI sector team is crucial for ING as amongst others it manages reciprocity envelopes for ING and FIs clients are often business partners of ING as well.

Head of FI Netherlands The client coverage team is responsible for all FI clients in The Netherlands Nordics region North Africa and Israel and is one of the biggest revenue generators in the FI EMEA team as well as in Sectors Netherlands. The CD&NFR team consists of 1 Team Head a Business Management team (2 people) Personal Assistants (2) and Transaction & Regulatory team (6 people). The Head of FI Netherlands is end-to-end responsible for setting and executing the strategy for the entire FI business in the Netherlands.

As a Head of FI Netherlands your responsibilities include

• Setting and executing an end-to-end strategy for FI Netherlands. This includes a commercial strategy regarding clients people strategy as well as CD&NFR strategy
• P&L responsibility for the team and business
• End-to-end internal and external stakeholder management. Internally with key (product) stakeholders including from Lending Financial Markets Transaction Services and Capital Markets & Advisory. Externally with journalists and industry associations
• Day-to-day Management of the coverage team as well as the CD&NFR team
• Actively being part of the Management Team of the Head of Sectors NL as well as the Management Team of the Head of FI EMEA
• Contributing to the development and implementation of the overall ING business and people strategy and ING business principles including INGs Orange Code
• Ensuring a culture of inclusiveness

Candidate Profile

• Academic Masters degree 15 years of WB experience with demonstrated understanding of FI sector clients as well as products
• Demonstrated leadership experience with end-to-end responsibility
• Cultural- and organizational sensitivity
• An entrepreneurial mind set
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills in Dutch and English
