This is a senior opportunity to shape and lead data governance for a global, purpose‑driven organisation. You will set the direction, build the framework, and guide the organisation through a major data and digital transformation with real-world impact.

The Company

They are a large international non-profit operating across more than 100 countries, focused on child protection, education, and emergency support. Their mission-driven work spans humanitarian response, healthcare, safeguarding, and long-term development programmes. With a major digital and finance transformation underway, they are investing heavily in data to strengthen decision-making and improve the measurement of global outcomes.

The Role

As Head of Data Governance, you will define and lead the organisation’s data governance agenda. You will work closely with senior leaders across digital strategy, analytics, transformation, and finance to embed strong governance practices at scale. Responsibilities include:

• Owning the data governance strategy and setting a clear, organisation-wide roadmap.

• Designing and approving governance policies, standards, frameworks, and controls.

• Leading governance efforts across finance transformation, impact measurement, operational data, and donor attribution.

• Establishing the operating model for governance, including roles, responsibilities, and processes across distributed global teams.

• Providing leadership, steering committees with senior stakeholders, and guidance to data owners and stewards across the business.

• Overseeing a small central function while influencing broader teams in a resource‑constrained, mission-led environment.

• Ensuring governance supports digital transformation objectives and delivers measurable improvements in data quality and accountability.

Your Skills and Experience

• Strong leadership experience in data governance, operating models, and policy development.

• Ability to shape strategy and translate it into clear plans, frameworks, and measurable outcomes.

• Skilled at influencing senior stakeholders and navigating complex, international structures.

• Experience supporting large transformation programmes, ideally with finance or digital components.

• Comfortable working hands-on while also providing strategic direction.

• Motivated by working in a mission-led, purpose-driven environment.
