Cost Manager, Netherlands

Design Build search are working with an Irish owned construction consultancy practice. Our clients provide a full spectrum of services from cost management to sustainability advice across all industry sectors. Our client is actively looking for an experienced Project Quantity Surveyor to join their team. This position will deliver industry leading cost management services and will be a supporting role to teams based in the Netherlands.

Duties will primarily focus on take-offs, producing BOQs and issuing of tender packages to contractors. The successful candidate will liaise with contractors throughout the bidding process and analysis of the returned tenders, making recommendations to the site team on contractor appointment.

The position includes all aspects of Quantity Surveying including:

• Pre-contract cost control

• Pre-contract document preparation;

• All post contract functions including; interim recommendations, cost reporting, client meetings, final account reconciliations on a diverse range of projects;

• Responsibility for the training and development of junior surveyors within the team structure.

Key duties will include but are not limited to the following:

• Estimating & Cost Planning – reporting directly to clients

• Preparing Bills of Quantities

• Compiling Contract Documentation

• Preparing Cost Reports

• Preparing Monthly Valuations

• Preparation and Agreement of Final Accounts

• Review and Resolve Contractual Claims

• Attend Meetings with clients and design team members

• Training and development

Person Specification

• Qualification in Quantity Surveying or a relevant construction discipline.

• Ability to multi-task and balance multiple competing work demands.

• The successful candidate must be commercially aware (ability to drive and manage strict budgets) • Strong reporting/communication skills
