who are you

As a Construction Engineer/Sheet Metal Worker, you have two right hands (meaning you are highly skilled/handy). You possess good technical insight and are willing to work both independently and in a team. You are also available for the 2-shift system (7:00 AM - 3:30 PM & 3:20 PM - 11:45 PM). Furthermore, you meet the following requirements:

• You have a technical diploma at least at MBO level 2. MTS, HTS, Ilw, and SOM are also acceptable.
• Obtaining a Certificate of Good Conduct (VOG) & VCA certificate is no problem for you.
• Relevant (work) experience in technology.
• You can read and understand technical drawings and work documents well.

what will you do

As a Preparation Construction Engineer/Sheet Metal Worker (Toelevering), you repair train parts by welding, straightening, and dent removal. You follow work instructions or independently look for solutions in consultation with your supervisor. Your main responsibility is to provide the outdated train with a new interior. This involves assembling elements like the seats, windows, and doors of the train!

Furthermore, you will be involved in the following activities:

• Various assembly and repair activities
• Preparing the interior
• Preparing constructions for the welders
• Following work instructions

where will you work

NS Treinmodernisering (NS Train Modernization) is the technical specialist within the NS group. Safety is paramount at the NS Group. That is why technical maintenance is a top priority, and NS takes care of the overhaul and modernization of its trains itself. Because even heavily outdated trains can last for years after a 'major service'!
