Role Summary

We are seeking a German-speaking Application Engineer to support our European sales organization. In this role, you will work closely with customers, sales, and internal teams to understand application requirements and propose technically sound, commercially viable solutions using Alicat products.

This role is best suited to someone who combines technical understanding with strong communication skills, and who enjoys working in a customer-facing, solution-oriented environment.

What you’ll do

Primary responsibilities:

• Act as a technical point of contact for customers and the sales team, with a focus on the German-speaking market.
• Understand customer applications and requirements and recommend suitable flow and pressure solutions.
• Support pre-sales activities, including application discussions, product selection, and technical clarifications.
• Prepare and review technical input for quotations and customer documentation.
• Collaborate closely with Sales, Operations, and Engineering teams to ensure feasible and accurate solutions.

Secondary responsibilities:

• Support customers during product introduction, configuration, and basic troubleshooting.
• Contribute to internal knowledge sharing, application notes, and process improvements.
• Participate in customer meetings, training sessions, or trade events when required.

What we’re looking for

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, Chemical, or similar).
• Experience in an Application Engineer, Technical Sales Engineer, or similar role is preferred.
• Fluent German and English (spoken and written) - this is a key requirement. German is required to effectively support customers in German-speaking markets.
• Strong communication skills and a customer-oriented mindset.
• Comfortable working in a structured, international organization.
• Interest in flow, pressure, instrumentation, or industrial applications.
• Legal right to live and work in the Netherlands.

What Success Looks Like

Within 3–6 months, you can independently support customer application discussions, contribute effectively to pre-sales activities, and act as a trusted technical partner for the German-speaking sales region.
