Why this role exists

IFS Ultimo is building the next generation of agentic AI for industrial asset management — moving beyond experimentation to real, production-grade AI systems that support technicians, engineers, and operations teams in the field.

We’re hiring a Senior / AI Technical Lead to shape the technical direction of our AI platform and play a central role in building autonomous, context-aware AI agents across our SaaS product.

This is a hands-on technical leadership role — combining architecture, delivery, and influence — ideal for someone who wants to build AI systems that actually ship and scale.

What you’ll work on

• Designing and evolving Ultimo’s agentic AI architecture , including orchestration, vector databases, semantic technologies, and scalable deployment
• Leading AI solutions from proof of concept to production
• Embedding AI capabilities directly into a mission-critical SaaS platform
• Collaborating closely with software engineers, data scientists, and product teams
• Helping define how AI is applied across asset onboarding, maintenance optimisation, and inventory intelligence

How you’ll operate

• Act as a technical owner for AI initiatives, making sound architectural decisions under real-world constraints
• Balance experimentation with production discipline
• Work comfortably in ambiguity while driving clarity for others
• Advocate for applied, pragmatic AI over hype

What we’re looking for

• 5+ years’ experience in ML and/or software engineering , with AI/ML systems running in production
• Experience building or working with agentic AI frameworks (e.g. Semantic Kernel, AutoGen, CrewAI, or similar)
• Strong understanding of AI system design, MLOps, DevOps, and model lifecycle management
• Solid programming experience in Python (C# a plus)
• Comfortable working cross-functionally with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Experience in SaaS, industrial tech, or complex system environments is a strong plus
