Senior Accountant

Reports to: Finance Director

Position Summary

The Finance & Administrative Manager ensures the accurate financial operations and day-to-day accounting management for the school in Amsterdam. This is a hands-on position responsible for the full Order-to-Cash (O2C) cycle and general accounting. Working directly under the supervision of the French Finance team and reporting to the Head of School, this role is critical to successfully integrating the Amsterdam entity into the group’s financial reporting structure.

Main Tasks and Responsibilities

Financial & Accounting Operations

• Order-to-Cash (O2C) Cycle: End-to-end management of client accounting, including family invoicing, monitoring receivables, and active collection processes.

• General & Supplier Accounting : Handle full-cycle accounts payable, including invoice processing and timely payment execution.

• Financial Recording : Maintain the accuracy of the general ledger by recording and processing all daily accounting transactions.

• Reporting & Liaison : Act as the primary point of contact for Management Control (FP&A) teams based in Paris ; provide necessary data and support without being responsible for management control duties.

Administrative & Compliance Oversight

• Operational Excellence : Ensure all financial records are organized, accurate, and compliant with group standards and local fiscal requirements.

• Process Integrity : Maintain high standards of documentation for all transactions, facilitating seamless audits and reporting.

• Collaboration : Work closely with the Head of School and the central Finance team to ensure smooth operational alignment and financial accountability.

Profile and Competencies

• Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.

• Minimum 5–8 years of experience in a similar accounting or Finance/Administrative Manager role; experience in an accounting firm or corporate finance is highly valued.

• Strong technical accounting knowledge; comfortable with a 'hands-on' approach, including posting entries and managing operational cycles.

• Mandatory proficiency in English; French is preferred, Dutch is not required.

• High level of integrity, analytical mindset, and attention to detail.

• Comfortable working in an educational environment (400 students); ability to thrive in a creation-of-post context.

Logistics

• Location: On-site at the school in Amsterdam (1 day of remote work/week).

• Start Date: ASAP (Targeting June 15th).

• Reporting: Under the supervision of the French CFO.
